Sat - 21 Aug 2010. This is the continouus 2nd weekend we stay in Johor. After breakfast at Megah Ria - Bakuteh & roti canai(Fann), we headed to Senai - Niosh. Gosh, they closed. Then we decided to go Zon for some window shopping. While driving, Dennis take a left turn to Zoo Johor upon popping to a signboard. Well, we walk to the Zoo then.
Overall, it is a very small compound for the Zoo Johor comparing to Zoo Melaka. However, I have graded them better than Zoo Melaka. Reason is the entrance fees is cheaper. It costs RM2.00 for adult & RM1.00 for child (3-12yrs old). The most worthwhile is the animal here is much much active here. You can really see the animal instead of them hiding or sleeping in the cage. This is what I see after so many times in Zoo Melaka.
On the entrance, there is a place where picture taking corner. There is animal like pyton (ular sawa), small snakes, mice (make me itch as they crawling on the top fence), parrot and of course monkey - 3 species of them. The most amazing is there is a cub (lion baby) 3 months old in a cage. The size of the cub is like a grownup puppy, 2 feet high. His paw as big as my palm & the ears is so big. He indeed very active, walk over the cage here & there, sure is a fierce lion when grown to size.
The animal here is so near, there is a talking parrot that yell, says "hello" and "apa khabar". Ernn yell at the white parrot, the parrot keep on yell back to Ernn...haha...
There is monkeys keep in a cage, so near to see them, one of them even sound when near him to attract attention. Kinda show off. Fann have fun with him making mutual sounds..gee..
There are lions, divided into 2 fences in a compound, 2 of the divider has a couple lion, another 1 divider has a male,2 females & a cub. I guess the cub at the photo taking corner belongs to this cage as well.
There is only 1 tiger, at first sleeping in the cage, then it is walking round & round on the path of its compound. Their roars & groans really hume in the hearts.
Other animals seen like ostrich, deer, crocodile, hippos, elephants, house, iguana, birds, leopard, bear, panther & lots species of monkeys.
What's regret is no camera is brought to this zoo as it's a pop on. Well, will be a good visiting location when bringing family here.
